For those of you who don’t get it

In tonight’s Writing for the Web class we were asked to find a YouTube video, embed it and write about it.

Unfortunately, we were told not to come up with any 2girls1cup or Rick Rolls, so instead I picked a video that details, in simple language, the electoral process for the U.S. presidency, titled Electing a US President in Plain English.

Now, I have a high enough education level to not need this explained in plain English, but I can appreciate the need for it, and YouTube is a great medium for this video (have you read comments on a YouTube video lately? You’ll know exactly what I mean).

The production quality and style were what really kept me watching, though I felt like some things could have used more explanation (it has an asterisk and makes a point of mentioning that Nebraska and Maine don’t follow the same process, but not why or how they differ). As far as doing the job of simply explaining how the election process works, the video was successful, but I’d like a follow-up, maybe in less simple terms, of the problems inherent with the system and detailing the concerns many have with the Electoral College.

Anyway, the makers of the video can’t be trusted because they’re clearly in the tank for the triangle candidate.

At first i thought your post was in response to mine, but I checked the dates and i see i wrote mine after yours.

I’m on a computer right now with no sound, but when I get to one with sound, ill be sure to check out the video. I like things explained in plain english.
